Volunteers are welcome

German Distributor

Beate
Beate Hilker, Distributor

We extend a warm welcome to Beate Hilker from Germany. She starts her volunteer work in September by distributing Parkinsong CDs  near Berlin with German postage of 1,55 € per CD instead of 6,90 € (5,50 € Economy) when posting from Austria to Germany and Switzerland.

That’s a huge saving for buyers on shipping cost to and from Germany and will hopefully boost donations of 15 € for our beautiful CD. Beate’s labour of love is much appreciated. Volunteers in other countries are also more than welcome to join our network.

Paul and Michael

Apparently Michael J Fox performed a duet with the great Paul Simon, but unfortunately none of them responded to my enquiries. The only proof is in the picture above, found somewhere on the Fox Foundation’s website without the music. A pity, because I would have loved to listen to them singing together. Could it perhaps go on Volume 2 of Parkinsong Duets?

Stefan Weber (1946 – 2018)

Stefan Weber (8 November 1946 – 7 June 2018) was an Austrian art teacher and the lead singer and Kapellmeister of the Viennese band Drahdiwaberl. Weber founded the band in 1969 in the wake of the events of 1968. Drahdiwaberl were infamous for their elaborate stage shows which often include bizarre and, as some claim, disgusting elements.

Tom Isaacs (1968 – 2017)

Tom Isaacs was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 27 and co-founded The Cure Parkinson’s Trust in 2005. The organisation focuses on funding research with the potential to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s. Tom received the ‘World Parkinson Congress Award for Distinguished Contribution to the Parkinson Community’ in September 2016. He passed away unexpectedly on 31 May 2017 at the age of 49.
